We harvest a lot of fruit now in Japan. I love fruit so much. I usually eat grapes, pears, Mandarin oranges, persimmons, and figs in the fall. My favorite is Kyohou grapes! That is the fruit king in the fall. I think Japanese grapes are the best grapes in the world because the quality is perfect, better than anything! Also every individual grape is so big and sweet that it makes many people happy 😉 I don’t eat the skin of Kyohou grapes because it is too thick. Many Japanese people don’t eat grape skin even when it is thin. Even with other fruit, it is common to peel the skin, though I don’t know why.
It is fun in autumn when you can get lots of fruit, and this year I tried to make pear compote. Japanese pears are round; they’re a different shape from the western one. This time I used western pears called the “la France.” I like the shape of la France, and I wanted to preserve the same shape when I cooked it, so I used Instant Pot!
How to make it really easy:
The ingredients are also very simple, but the taste was like a restaurant!
Let’s cook it!
- Peel the skin off the pears
2.Put in all of the ingredients in Instant Pot on the pressure mode for 5 min, and natural release for 30 min.
Ingredients
5 small pears
250cc water
100 white wine
40g sweetener
1 cinnamon stick
Keep it at room temperature for 3 hours and then place in the refrigerator.
