I’m Kana, from Japan. I grew up in a family with a unique history. My grandfather’s mom started a sushi restaurant over 100 years ago. Then my grandfather started his own sushi restaurant with his wife (my grandmother) when he was young. He had many employees, and he taught them how to run a sushi restaurant. With this training they each went on to own their own restaurant and make a living off of it. At that time there were only a few sushi restaurants in Japan. That’s what makes my family history so special.
Now my parents and brother run restaurants in Japan. Growing up in such an environment inspired me to love eating and cooking. I even wrote about food for my graduate thesis. I am interested in food that is healthy and tasty! I also have a license in Japanese Tea ceremony and Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement). I’ve studied these arts for over 15 years. I’d like to share these with you on this site too!
